Jacobson was recently presented in the International Multi-Conference on Complexity, Informatics and Cybernetics (IMCIC 2011) in Orlando, Florida, March 27-30, 2011. The paper won "BEST PAPER AWARD - COMPLEXITY" due to the strengths in population data, non-parametric method in trajectory change, as well as use of Markov status transition approaches for longitudinal ordinal data. This type of data and problems are also broadly seen in other areas, such as health care, the service industry, and insurance.
